Leptin (clone RLEP 227), anti-rat

Decription:
Leptin is involved in the signaling pathway that regulates the size of the body fat depot. An increase in the level of leptin may act directly or indirectly on the CNS to inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure as part of a homeostatic mechanism to maintain constancy of the adipose mass. Defects in the leptin gene may be a cause of autosomal recessive obesity.

Isotype: Mouse IgG2a kappa

Immunogen: Recombinant rat leptin.

Reactivity: rat

Specificity: Recognizes rat leptin. Detects a band of ~16kDa by Western blot. Does not cross-react with human or mouse leptin.

Form: Purified, in 0.2um-filtered solution in PBS, pH 7.4. Contains no preservatives.

Applications:
ELISA: (direct or indirect: 1:5'000-1:10'000)
Western blot: (1:2'000-1:10'000 using ECL).

Working Dilution: Optimal conditions must be determined individually for each application.

Concentration: 1mg/ml
