The protein is located in the Golgi andcatalyzes the final hydrolytic step in the asparagine-linkedoligosaccharide (N-glycan) maturation pathway. Mutations in themouse homolog of this gene have been shown to cause a systemicautoimmune disease similar to human systemic lupus erythematosus.
