Background:
P38 gamma is a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. Activation of members of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family is a major mechanism for transduction of extracellular signals. Stress-activated protein kinases are one subclass of MAP kinases. P38 gamma functions as a signal transducer during differentiation of myoblasts to myotubes.

Other Names:
Mitogen-activated protein kinase 12, MAP kinase 12, MAPK 12, Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 6, ERK-6, Mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 gamma, MAP kinase p38 gamma, Stress-activated protein kinase 3, MAPK12, ERK6, SAPK3

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP7511a was selected from the C-term region of human P38 gamma . A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: MAPK12

Gene ID: 6300
Primary Accession: P53778
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
