Protein Family: Enzymes, Protein Kinases
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Cell Communication, Cell Growth and Death, Immune System, Endocrine System, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Development and Behavior, Cancers, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Infectious Diseases
Description:
Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1 (MAPKK1 (MEK1)) catalyzes the concomitant phosphorylation of a threonine and a tyrosine residue in a Thr-Glu-Tyr sequence located in MAP kinases. MAPKK1 activates ERK1 and ERK2 MAP kinases. Defects in MAPKK1 are a cause of cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFC syndrome), also known as cardio-facio-cutaneous syndrome. CFC syndrome is characterized by a distinctive facial appearance, heart defects and mental retardation.
Alternate Names: MAPKK1, Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1, MAP kinase kinase 1, MAPKK1, ERK activator kinase 1, MAPK/ERK kinase 1, MEK1, MAP2K1, PRKMK1
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500; IP: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: Q02750
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region of human MAPKK1 (MEK1).
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
