Protein Family: SNAREs
Pathway and Disease: Nervous and Sensory Systems, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Myristoylated Alanine-Rich C Kinase Substrate (MARCKS) is a major substrate for phosphorylation by protein kinase C (PKC) and is concentrated in synapses of neurons. MARCKS functions in synaptic vesicle cycling and has been shown to bind both actin and calmodulin in vitro. Deletion of the MARCKS gene in mice results in embryonic brain defects and death. MARCKS is a member of a family of calmodulin binding proteins and phosphorylation of Ser152/156 modulates the binding of MARCKS to calmodulin.
Alternate Names: Myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate, MARCKS, Protein kinase C substrate 80 kDa protein, Marcks, Macs
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:10,000; IF: 1:500
Accession No.: P30009
Antigen: Recombinant MARCKS expressed in E. coli.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml of crude serum with 0.09% sodium azide.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
