Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: C-C motif chemokine 8, small-inducible cytokin A8, monocyte chemoattractant protein 2, monocyte chemotactic protein 2, MCP-2(6-76), CCL8, MCP2, SCYA10, SCYA8Description:
Monocyte Chemotactic protein 2 (MCP-2), also known as CCL8, is implicated in allergic responses through its ability to activate mast cells, eosinophils, and basophils. MCP-2 is known to signal through several G protein-coupled receptors including, CCR1, CCR2B, and CCR5. Mouse MCP-2 is produced in E.coli. Recombinant mouse MCP-2 is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 74 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 8.5 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
The activity is determined by the its ability to chemoattract human PBMCs or THP-1 cells at 10-100 ng/mL. Specific activity: 1 x 10e5 units/mg
Accession No.: Q9Z121
MW: 8500 Da
Sequence:
GPDKAPVTCC FHVLKLKIPL RVLKSYERIN NIQCPMEAVV FQTKQGMSLC VDPTQKWVSE YMEILDQKSQ ILQP
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
