Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: C-C motif chemokine 13, small-inducible cytokine A13, monocyte chemoattractant protein 4, monocyte chemotactic protein 4, MCP-4, CK-beta-10, NCC-1, C-C motif chemokine 13, long chain, C-C motif chemokine 13, medium chain, C-C motif chemokine 13, short chain, CCL13, MCP4, NCC1, SCYA13Description:
Monocyte chemoattractant protein 4 (MCP-4 or C-C motif chemokine 13) is a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. MCP-4 signals through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. This protein plays a role in the accumulation of leukocytes in allergic and non-allergic inflammation. MCP-4 is involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during process of atherosclerosis. This protein also plays a role in monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens. Recombinant Human MCP-4 produced in E. coli is a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 74 amino acids with a MW of 8,510 Da.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
MCP-4 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The specific activity as determined by the ability of MCP-4 to chemoattaract human monocytes at 7 – 75 ng/ml.
Accession No.: Q99616
MW: 8510 Da
Sequence:
QPDALNVPST CCFTFSSKKI SLQRLKSYVI TTSRCPQKAV IFRTKLGKEI CADPKEKWVQ NYMKHLGRKA HTLKT
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 20 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.2 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
