Background:
The prototype member of this family, designated MAP kinase kinase, or MEK-1, specifically phosphorylates the MAP kinaseegulatory threonine and tyrosine residues present in thehr-Glu-Tyr motif of ERK. A second MEK family member, MEK-2, resembles MEK-1 in its substrate specificity. MEK-3 (or MKK-3) functions to activate p38 MAP kinase, and MEK-4 (also called SEK1 or MKK-4) activates both p38 and JNK MAP kinases. MEK-5 appears to specifically phosphorylate ERK5, whereas MEK-6hosphorylates p38 and p38b. MEK-7 (or MKK-7) phosphorylates and activates the JNK signal transduction pathway.
Alternative Name:
Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3, MAP kinase kinase 3, MAPKK 3, MAPK/ERK kinase 3, MEK 3, Stress-activated protein kinase kinase 2, SAPK kinase 2, SAPKK-2, SAPKK2, MAP2K3, MEK3, MKK3, PRKMK3, SKK2
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:1000, IHC: 1:50~1:200
Specificity: p-MEK-3 (S189) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of MEK-3 protein only when phosphorylated at Ser189
Immunogen:
Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human MEK-3 around the phosphorylation site of Serine 189.
MW: ~ 39 kDa
Swis Prot.: P46734
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
