Protein Family: Enzymes, Protein Kinases
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Motility, Cell Communication, Immune System, Cell Growth and Death, Endocrine System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Infectious Diseases, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Immune System
Description:
Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1 (MEK1/2) catalyzes the concomitant phosphorylation of a threonine and a tyrosine residue in a Thr-Glu-Tyr sequence located in MAP kinases. MEK1/2 activates ERK1 and ERK2 MAP kinases. Defects in MEK1/2 are a cause of cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFC syndrome), also known as cardio-facio-cutaneous syndrome. CFC syndrome is characterized by distinctive facial appearance, heart defects and mental retardation.
Alternate Names: MEK1/2, Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1, MAP kinase kinase 1, MAPKK 1, MKK1, ERK activator kinase 1, MAPK/ERK kinase 1, MEK 1, MAP2K1, MEK1, PRKMK1
Application Notes: E: 1:1,000; WB: 1:1,000
Accession No.: Q02750
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide encompassing a sequence surrounding Ser218/222 of human MEK1/2.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml IgG in HEPES pH7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 0.01% BSA and 50% glycerol. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
