Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Transcription
Description:
Lysine methylation is a conserved post-translational modification and is an important biochemical process for many protein-protein interactions. It is found in many proteins, such as calmodulin, cytochrome C, chromosomal proteins, histones, non-histones, as well as neural storage body proteins. Lysine methylation plays a role in gene silencing. The antibody can be used for detection, quantitation, and isolation of proteins with methylated lysine residues.
Alternate Names: Methylated lysine, MeK, Methyllysine, MeLys, Methyl-lysine
Application Notes: Cat. No. 251119 recognizes proteins and peptides methylated on lysine residues (mono and dimethylysine). The cross-reactivity with tri-methyl-lysine has not been tested. There is no reaction with acetylated proteins. E: 1:500-1:2,000; WB: 1:200-1:1000; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Antigen: Methylated KLH-conjugates.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.4 ml (0.25 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol. Antibody was immunoaffinity purified with methyl and dimethyl lysine on agarose.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
