Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Cytosolic phospholipase A2 (PLA2G4A) detection. Tested with WB in human, mouse.
Protein Name: Cytosolic phospholipase A2
Background:
Selectively hydrolyzes arachidonyl phospholipids in the sn-2 position releasing arachidonic acid. Together with its lysophospholipid activity, it is implicated in the initiation of the inflammatory response.
Other Names:
Cytosolic phospholipase A2, cPLA2, Phospholipase A2 group IVA, Phospholipase A2, 3.1.1.4, Phosphatidylcholine 2-acylhydrolase, Lysophospholipase, 3.1.1.5, PLA2G4A, CPLA2, PLA2G4
Subcellular Localization: Cytoplasm. Cytoplasmic vesicle. Translocates to membrane vesicles in a calcium-dependent fashion.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed in various tissues such as macrophages, platelets, neutrophils, fibroblasts and lung endothelium.
Gene ID: 5321
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human PLA2G4A (682-721aa NFQYPNQAFKRLHDLMHFNTLNNIDVIKEAMVESIEYRRQ), different from the related mouse and rat sequences by three amino acids.
Calculated MW: 85239
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Format: Lyophilized
Contents: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9 mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05 mg NaN3.
Concentration (mg/ml): Add 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 µg/ml.
Storage: At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
