Macrophage inflammatory protein 1-alpha (MIP-1-alpha or C-C motif chemokine 3) is a monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. MIP-1-alpha binds to CCR1, CCR4, and CCR5, and is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-alpha induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HOV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Recombinant Human MIP-1 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 70 amino acids with a MW of 7,820 Da.

Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.

Applications: E, WB

Application Notes:
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human monocytes using a concentration range of 0.5 - 8 ng/ml.

Accession No.: P10147

MW: 7820 Da

Sequence:
ASLAADTPTA CCFSYTSRQI PQNFIADYFE TSSQCSKPGV IFLTKRSRQV CADPSEEWVQ KYVSDLELSA

Purity:
Purity > 97% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.

Format:
Each vial contains 20 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.2 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
