Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Immune System
Description:
Macrophage inflammatory protein 1-beta (MIP1-beta) is a monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. MIP-1 binds to CCR5, one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-beta induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). The processed form MIP-1-beta(3-69) retains the abilities to induce down-modulation of surface expression of the chemokine receptor CCR5 and to inhibit the CCR5-mediated entry of HIV-1 in T-cells. MIP-1-beta(3-69) is also a ligand for CCR1 and CCR2 isoform B.
Alternate Names: MIP-1-beta, Macrophage inflammatory protein 1-beta, C-C motif chemokine 4, Small-inducible cytokine A4, MIP-1-beta(1-69), T-cell activation protein 2, ACT-2, PAT 744, Protein H400, SIS-gamma, Lymphocyte activation gene 1 protein, LAG-1, HC21, G-26 T-lymphocyte-secreted protein, CCL4, LAG1, MIP1B, SCYA4
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P13236
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human MIP-1-beta.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
