The MLH1 Break Apart Probe detects rearrangements of the MLH1 gene.

The MLH1 gene, located on chromosome 3p22.2, functions in the DNA-mismatch repair process. MLH1 is frequently mutated in the autosomal dominant disease, hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPCC), also referred to as Lynch Syndrome. Those who inherit HNPCC have an 76% risk of developing colorectal cancer and an increased risk of developing endometrial and renal cell carcinomas.

Empire Genomics has developed a MLH1 Break Apart FISH Probe that can be used to detect MLH1 gene rearrangements. The probe comes labeled in orange and green, and you may also choose to customize the probe to meet your needs.

Loci: 3p22.2
