Background:
This gene encodes a member of the muscle segment homeoboxgene family. The encoded protein is a transcriptional repressorwhose normal activity may establish a balance between survival andapoptosis of neural crest-derived cells required for propercraniofacial morphogenesis. The encoded protein may also have arole in promoting cell growth under certain conditions and may bean important target for the RAS signaling pathways. Mutations inthis gene are associated with parietal foramina 1 andcraniosynostosis type 2.
Other Names:
Homeobox protein MSX-2, Homeobox protein Hox-8, MSX2, HOX8
Gene Name: MSX2
Gene ID: 4488
Primary Accession: P35548
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
