Background:
This gene encodes a transcription factor that is a memberof the MYB family of transcription factor genes. The proteincontains three domains, an N-terminal DNA-binding domain, a centraltranscriptional activation domain and a C-terminal domain involvedin transcriptional repression. This protein plays an essential rolein the regulation of hematopoiesis and may play a role intumorigenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcriptvariants.
