Protein Family: Transporters, Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Immune System
Description:
Myeloperoxidase plays a role in the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Myeloperoxidase is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, myeloperoxidase catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity. Defects in myeloperoxidase are the cause of myeloperoxidase deficiency (MPD), an autosomal recessive defect that results in disseminated candidiasis.
Alternate Names: MPO, Myeloperoxidase
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P05164
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human myeloperoxidase.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 0.1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
