Protein Family: Receptors and Channels

Pathway and Disease: Membrane Transport

Alternate Names: SLC34A2; NaPi-2b; Sodium-dependent phosphate transport 2B; Sodium-phosphate transport protein 2B; Na(+)-dependent phosphate cotransporter 2B; Sodium/phosphate cotransporter 2B; Na(+)/Pi cotransporter 2B; NaPi3b; Solute carrier family 34 member 2

Accession No.: Q9DBP0

Description:
Sodium-dependent phosphate transport protein 2B (NaPi-2b) is involved in actively transporting phosphate into cells via Na+ co-transport. NaPi-2b is the main phosphate transport protein in the intestinal brush border membrane, and has a role in the synthesis of surfactant in lungs' alveoli. Defects in NaPi-2b are a cause of pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis, a rare disease characterized by the deposition of calcium phosphate microliths throughout the lungs.

Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 ml peptide in deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.

MW: 1360.7 g/mol

Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 251343 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of mouse NaPi-2b. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.

Composition:
C57H100N16O22

Purity:
> 80% by HPLC

Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.

Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
