Background:
This gene encodes one subunit of a trimeric complexforming a highly conserved transcription factor that binds withhigh specificity to CCAAT motifs in the promoters of a variety ofgenes. The encoded protein, subunit C, forms a tight dimer with theB subunit, a prerequisite for subunit A association. The resultingtrimer binds to DNA with high specificity and affinity. Subunits Band C each contain a histone-like motif. Multiple transcriptvariants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Other Names:
Nuclear transcription factor Y subunit gamma, CAAT box DNA-binding protein subunit C, Nuclear transcription factor Y subunit C, NF-YC, Transactivator HSM-1/2, NFYC
Gene Name: NFYC
Gene ID: 4802
Primary Accession: Q13952
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
