Protein Family: Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Glutamate [NMDA] receptor subunit epsilon-2 (N-methyl D-aspartate receptor subtype 2B receptor or NMDA NR2B) is a NMDA receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels with high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. NMDA NR2B forms heteromeric channel of a zeta subunit, a epsilon subunit (GRIN2A , GRIN2B, GRIN2C or GRIN2D) and a third subunit (GRIN3A or GRIN3B). NMDA NR2B is sprimarily found in the fronto-parieto-temporal cortex and hippocampus pyramidal cells. Phosphorylation of Tyr1472 plays a role in the function of NMDA NR2B in neuronal plasticity.
Alternate Names: Glutamate [NMDA] receptor subunit epsilon-2, N-methyl D-aspartate receptor subtype 2B, NMDAR2B, NR2B, N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit 3, hNR3, NR3, GRIN2B, NMDA NR2B Subunit
Application Notes: E: 1:1,000; WB: 1:1,000
Accession No.: Q00960
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide encompassing a sequence surrounding Tyr1472 of rat NMDA NR2B.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml IgG in HEPES pH7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 0.01% BSA and 50% glycerol. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
