Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Replication and Repair, Transcription
Alternate Names: Non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding protein; NonO protein; 54 kDa nuclear RNA- and DNA-binding protein; p54(nrb); p54nrb; 55 kDa nuclear protein; NMT55; DNA-binding p52/p100 complex, 52 kDa subunit; NONO; NRB54
Accession No.: Q15233, NP_031389
Description:
Non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding protein (NonO protein/p54nrb) is a DNA- and RNA-binding protein involved in several nuclear processes such as binding octamer sequence in dsDNA, pre-mRNA splicing, and interacting with U5 snRNA. NonO is found in paraspeckle bodies, which contain several RNA-binding proteins and nuclear-retained CTN-RNA. A chromosomal abberation involving NonO protein is a cause of colon carcinoma.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1917.1 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200183 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human NonO. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C84H129N27O23S1
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
