Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Transcription, Nervous and Sensory Systems
Description:
Neuronal PAS domain-containing protein 2 (NPAS2) forms heterodimers which activate E-box element (3'-CACGTG-5') transcription of a number of proteins of the circadian clock. This transcription is inhibited in a feedback loop by PER, and also by CRY proteins. NPAS2 is a component of the circadian clock oscillator which includes the CRY proteins, CLOCK or NPAS2, BMAL1 or BMAL2, CSNK1D and/or CSNK1E, TIMELESS and the PER proteins. Efficient DNA binding requires dimerization with another bHLH protein. Heterodimerization with CLOCK or NPAS2 is required for E-box-dependent transactivation.
Alternate Names: Neuronal PAS domain-containing protein 2, Neuronal PAS2, Member of PAS protein 4, Basic-helix-loop-helix-PAS protein MOP4, PAS domain-containing protein 4, Class E basic helix-loop-helix protein 9, bHLHe9, NPAS2, BHLHE9, MOP4, PASD4
Application Notes: E: 1:10,000-1:50,000; WB: 1:100-1:1,000
Accession No.: Q99743
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human NPAS2.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
