Protein Family: Enzymes, Protein Kinases
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Development and Behavior, Immune System
Alternate Names: 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase 1; 2-5' oligo(A) synthetase 1; 2-5A synthetase 1; p46/p42 OAS; E18/E16; OAS1; OIAS
Accession No.: P00973, NP_002525
Description:
OAS1 is involved in mediating resistance to virus infection, control of cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. OAS1 binds double-stranded RNA and polymerizes ATP into PPP(A2'P5'A)N oligomers, which activate the latent Rnase L to cleaves single-stranded RNAs.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1971.2 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200114 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of human OAS1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C89H139N19O29S1
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
