Protein Family: Transporters
Pathway and Disease: Folding, Sorting and Degradation
Description:
The organic anion transporter 1 (OAT-1 or SLC22A6) is localized to the basolateral membrane of renal tubular epithelial cells and plays a critical role in the excretion and detoxification of anionic compounds. OAT-1 functions as organic anion exchanger when the uptake of one molecule of organic anion is coupled with an efflux of one molecule of endogenous dicarboxylic acid (glutarate, ketoglutarate, etc). OAT-1 mediates the sodium-independant uptake of 2,3-dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid (DMPS), p-aminohippurate (PAH), ochratoxin (OTA), acyclovir (ACV) and many other organic compounds.
Alternate Names: Solute carrier family 22 member 6, Organic anion transporter 1, OAT1, Renal organic anion transporter 1, ROAT1, Novel kidney transcript, NKT, SLC22A6
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:200-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: Q8VC69
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region of mouse OAT-1.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol, 0.1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A and immunogen affinity chromatography.
