Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Transcription
Description:
Octamer-binding protein 1 (Oct-1) is a transcription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3') and activates the promoters of genes for some small nuclear RNAs (snRNA) and of genes for histone H2B and immunoglobulins. Oct-1 modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR and PGR. In case of human herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, Oct-1 forms a multiprotein-DNA complex with the viral transactivator protein VP16 and HCFC1 thereby enabling the transcription of the viral immediate early genes.
Alternate Names: OCT1, Oct-1, POU domain, class 2, transcription factor 1, Octamer-binding transcription factor 1, OTF-1, NF-A1, POU2F1, OTF1
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500; IP: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P14859
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human Oct-1.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
