Background:
ORC proteins bind specifically to origins of replication where they serve as scaffold for the assembly of additional initiation factors. Human ORC subunits 1-6 are expressed in the nucleus of proliferating cells and tissues, such as the testis. ORC1 and ORC2 are both expressed at equivalent concentrations throughout the cell cycle; however, only ORC2 remains stably bound to chromatin. ORC4 and ORC6 are also expressed constantly throughout the cell cycle. ORC2, ORC3, ORC4 and ORC5 form a core complex upon which ORC6 and ORC1 assemble. The formation of this core complex suggests that ORC proteins play a crucial role in the G1-S transition in mammalian cells.
Alternative Name:
Origin recognition complex subunit 1, Replication control protein 1, ORC1L, PARC1
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:1000
Specificity: ORC1 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of ORC1 protein.
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide, corresponding to amino acids 364-409 of Human ORC1.
MW: ~ 97, 120 kDa
Swis Prot.: Q13415
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
