Background:
The origin recognition complex (ORC) is a highly conservedsix subunits protein complex essential for the initiation of theDNA replication in eukaryotic cells. Studies in yeast demonstratedthat ORC binds specifically to origins of replication and serves asa platform for the assembly of additional initiation factors suchas Cdc6 and Mcm proteins. The protein encoded by this gene is asubunit of the ORC complex. Studies of a similar gene in Drosophilasuggested a possible role of this protein in neuronal proliferationand olfactory memory. Alternatively spliced transcript variantsencoding distinct isoforms have been reported for this gene.
Other Names:
Origin recognition complex subunit 3, Origin recognition complex subunit Latheo, ORC3, LATHEO, ORC3L
Gene Name: ORC3
Gene ID: 23595
Primary Accession: Q9UBD5
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
