Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is specifically expressedin the inner ear, and is located at the interface between theapical surface of the inner ear sensory epithelia and theiroverlying acellular gels. It is prposed that this protein isinvolved in the attachment of the inner ear acellular gels to theapical surface of the underlying nonsensory cells. Mutations inthis gene are associated with autosomal recessive deafness type 22(DFNB22). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encodingdifferent isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided byRefSeq].
Other Names:
Otoancorin, OTOA
Gene Name: OTOA
Gene ID: 146183
Primary Accession: Q7RTW8
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
