Protein Family: Transporters
Pathway and Disease: Folding, Sorting and Degradation
Description:
Ovalbumin is the main protein found in egg white, making up 60-65% of the total protein. Native chicken ovalbumin is a globular monomer with a molecular mass of 45 kDa. It is structurally related to both serpins and lipocalins. This antibody reacts with denatured ovalbumin. Cross-reactivity with ovalbumins from other avian species has not been tested.
Alternate Names: Egg albumin, Plakalbumin, Allergen Gal d 2, Alergin Gal d II
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250327 reacts with chicken ovalbumin in denatured or modified forms (surface-adsorbed, heat-denatured or reduced), including native chicken ovalbumin coated directly onto the microtiter well. Product Cat. No. 250327 reacts in dot-blot with both native and denatured ovalbumin adsorbed onto nitrocellulose, and in western blot with ovalbumin in both reduced and unreduced forms. E: 1:6,500; WB: 1:1,000
Accession No.: P01012
Antigen: Purified chicken ovalbumin was treated with formaldehyde and lysine for 2 weeks at 35°C and then autoclaved for 1 h at 110°C before being adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel.
Format: Each vial contains 0.2 mg IgG in 0.2 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
