Protein Family: Enzymes, Protein Kinases, Cellular Antigens
Pathway and Disease: Endocrine System, Signal Transduction, Immune System, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Development and Behavior, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Infectious Diseases
Description:
Mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 alpha (p38 MAPK) responds to activation by environmental stress, pro-inflammatory cytokines and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) by phosphorylating a number of transcription factors, such as ELK1 and ATF2 and several downstream kinases, such as MAPKAPK2 and MAPKAPK5. P38 MAPK plays a critical role in the production of some cytokines, for example IL-6. P38 MAPK plays a role in stabilization of EPO mRNA during hypoxic stress.
Alternate Names: p38 MAPK, Mitogen-activated protein kinase 14, Mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 alpha, MAP kinase p38 alpha, Cytokine suppressive anti-inflammatory drug-binding protein, CSAID-binding protein, CSBP, MAX-interacting-protein 2, MAP kinase MXI2, SAPK2A, MAPK14, p38
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 251128 does not cross-react with p38 beta, gamma and delta. E: 0.5 ug/ml; WB: 1 ug/ml; IP: 5 ug/sample
Accession No.: Q16539
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human p38 MAPK.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.4 ml (0.25 mg/ml) of TBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol with 0.01% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by antigen affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
