p53 (clone PAb122), anti-human, mouse, rat, dog, monkey

A BALB/c mouse was immunized with SV40 infected 3T3 cells, 3T3/SV40 clone 4 (B4).
Fusion partner: P3-X63-Ag8-NS1.

Specifications:
PAb 122 binds to the C-terminus (aa370-378) of both wild type and mutated p53. When microinjected into nuclei, PAb 122 blocked re-entry into the S-phaseof the cell cycle. Mutation and/or allelic loss of p53 is one of the causes of a variety of mesenchymal and epithelial tumors. p53 Localizes in the nucleus, but is detectable at the plasma membrane during mitosis and when certain mutations modulate cytoplasmic/nuclear distribution.

Species reactivity:
Positive: dog, human, monkey, mouse, rat. Negative: hamster.

Applications:
PAb122 epitope is irretrievably destroyed by formalin fixation and routine paraffin embedding. PAb122 can be used in immunofluorescence tests.
