Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Development and Behavior, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Transcription
Description:
Tumor protein 63 (p63) acts as a sequence specific DNA binding transcriptional activator or repressor. The isoforms contain a varying set of transactivation and auto-regulating transactivation inhibiting domains thus showing an isoform specific activity. p63 in conjunction with p73 initiates p53 dependent apoptosis in response to environmental stimuli such as DNA damage and hypoxia. p63 is also involved in Notch signaling and regulation of epithelial morphogenesis. Defects in p63 are the cause of multiple ectodermal dysplasia syndromes, a group of developmental disorders affecting tissues of ectodermal origin. This antibody is specific for p63 alpha isotype.
Alternate Names: Tumor protein 63, p63, Transformation-related protein 63, TP63, Tumor protein p73-like, p73L, p51, p40, Keratinocyte transcription factor KET, Chronic ulcerative stomatitis protein, CUSP, P73H, TP73L, p51b, p63a, p63 alpha
Application Notes: E: 1:10,000; WB: 1:500-1:2000; IHC: 1:200-1:1000
Accession No.: Q9H3D4
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within human p63 alpha.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml ascitic fluid with 0.03% sodium azide.
Storage:
Store at 4°C for short term use only. Store at -20°C for storage over 1 month. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
