Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Development and Behavior, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Transcription
Description:
Tumor protein 63 (p63) acts as a sequence specific DNA binding transcriptional activator or repressor. The isoforms contain a varying set of transactivation and auto-regulating transactivation inhibiting domains thus showing an isoform specific activity. p63 in conjunction with p73 initiates p53 dependent apoptosis in response to environmental stimuli such as DNA damage and hypoxia. p63 is also involved in Notch signaling and regulation of epithelial morphogenesis. Defects in p63 are the cause of multiple ectodermal dysplasia syndromes, a group of developmental disorders affecting tissues of ectodermal origin.
Alternate Names: Tumor protein 63, p63, Transformation-related protein 63, TP63, Tumor protein p73-like, p73L, p51, p40, Keratinocyte transcription factor KET, Chronic ulcerative stomatitis protein, CUSP, P73H, TP73L
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:200-1:500; IHC: 1:200-1:500
Accession No.: Q9H3D4
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region of human p63.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
