Protein Family: Enzymes, Protein Kinases
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Motility, Cell Communication, Immune System, Development and Behavior, Cancers, Infectious Diseases
Description:
Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK-1 (PAK-1) is a protein kinase that acts on a variety of targets. PAK-1 is the GTPase effector that links the Rho-related GTPases to the JNK MAP kinase pathway. PAK-1 is activated by CDC42 and RAC1, and is involved in dissolution of stress fibers and reorganization of focal complexes. PAK-1 is involved in regulation of microtubule biogenesis through phosphorylation of TBCB. PAK-1 activity is inhibited in cells undergoing apoptosis, potentially due to binding of CDC2L1 and CDC2L2. Autophosphorylation of Thr402 has been found to be essential for activation of PAK.
Alternate Names: Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 1, p21-activated kinase 1, PAK-1, p65-PAK, Alpha-PAK, PAK1
Application Notes: E: 1:1,000; WB: 1:1,000
Accession No.: P35465
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic phosphopeptide encompassing a sequence surrounding Thr402 of rat PAK-1, 2, 3. Thr402 in PAK-2 corresponds to Thr423 in human PAK-1.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml IgG in HEPES pH7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 0.01% BSA and 50% glycerol. Antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
