Description:
The pancreatic prohormone (Pancreatic Polypeptide or PPY) is synthesized in the pancreatic islets of Langherans. PPY regulates pancreatic and gastrointestinal functions. PPY is cleaved into 2 chains, a 36-aa pancreatic hormone (PH, Cat. No. 350327, human sequence) and a 20-aa pancreatic icosapeptide (PI). Obinepitide, a PPY derivative with Gln63, is tested in clinical trials for the treatment of obesity.
