Background:
Lysophospholipases are enzymes that act on biologicalmembranes to regulate the multifunctional lysophospholipids. Theprotein encoded by this gene hydrolyzes lysophosphatidylcholine toglycerophosphorylcholine and a free fatty acid. This enzyme ispresent in the plasma and thought to be associated withhigh-density lipoprotein. A later paper contradicts the function ofthis gene. It demonstrates that this gene encodes a lysosomalenzyme instead of a lysophospholipase and has bothcalcium-independent phospholipase A2 and transacylase activities.
Other Names:
Paired box protein Pax-5, B-cell-specific transcription factor, BSAP, PAX5
Gene Name: PAX5
Gene ID: 5079
Primary Accession: Q02548
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
