Protein Family: Cell Adhesion Molecules, Cytoskeleton Proteins
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cancers
Description:
Cytokeratins are proteins of keratin-containing intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. There are two types of cytokeratins: the acidic type I cytokeratins and the basic or neutral type II cytokeratins. Cytokeratins are usually found in pairs comprising a type I cytokeratin and a type II cytokeratin. Immunohistochemical detection of cytokeratins is of immense value in tumor cell diagnosis and identification.
Alternate Names: Cytokeratin, Cytokeratin-1, Cytokeratin-2, Cytokeratin-3, Cytokeratin-4, Cytokeratin-5, Cytokeratin-6, Cytokeratin-7, Cytokeratin-8, Cytokeratin-9, Cytokeratin-10, Cytokeratin-12, Cytokeratin-13, Cytokeratin-14, Cytokeratin-16, Cytokeratin-18, Cytokeratin-19, Cytokeratin, -20, CK1, CK2, CK3, CK4, CK5, CK6, CK7, CK8, CK9, CK10, CK12, CK13, CK14, CK16, CK17, CK18, CK19, CK20, Keratin-2 epidermis
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P35908
