Protein Family: CAM Ligands, Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Communication, Cancers
Description:
Platelet derived growth factor (PDGF-A) is a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. Binding of this growth factor to its affinity receptor elicits a variety of cellular responses. It is released by platelets upon wounding and plays an important role in stimulating adjacent cells to grow and thereby heal the wound. Its protein structure consists of antiparallel disulfide -linked dimer of nonidentical (A,B) chains. Homodimers of A and B chains are implicated in the transformation processes. A-A and B-B, as well as A-B dimers can bind to the PDGF receptor. It belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family.
Alternate Names: Platelet-derived growth factor A chain, Platelet-derived growth factor alpha polypeptide, PDGF-1, PDGF subunit A, PDGFA, PDGF1, Platelet-derived growth factor subunit A
Application Notes: E: 1:500-1:1,000; WB: 1:100-1:500; IHC: 1:100-1:500
Accession No.: P04085
Antigen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the N-term region of human PDGF-A.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4, 25% glycerol, 1 mg/ml BSA with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
