Protein Family: CAM Ligands, Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Communication, Cell Motility, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Platelet-derived growth factor subunit B, PDGF subunit B, Platelet-derived growth factor B chain, Platelet-derived growth beta polypeptide, PDGF-2, c-sis, Becaplermin, PDGFB, PDGF2, SISDescription:
PDGF (Platelet-derived growth factor) is a mitogenic peptide growth hormone carried in the alpha-granules of platelets. It is released when platelets adhere to traumatized tissues. Connective tissue cells near the traumatized region respond by initiating the process of replication. The synthesis of PDGF can be induced by Interleukin-1, Interleukin-6, TNF-alpha, TGF-beta and EGF. PDGF-BB Human Recombinant is a homodimeric non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 109 amino acids with a MW of 24.3 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
PDGF-BB is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of BALB/c 3T3 indicator cells is < 1.86 ng/ml.
Accession No.: P01127
MW: 24300 Da
Sequence:
SLGSLTIAEP AMIAECKTRT EVFEISRRLI DRTNANFLVW PPCVEVQRCS GCCNNRNVQC RPTQVQLRPV QVRKIGIVRK KPIFKKATVT LGDHLACKCE TVAAARPVT
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug protein lyophilized in 10 mM acetic acid. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Communication, Cell Motility, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
