Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Periostin(POSTN) detection. Tested with WB in Mouse;Rat.Protein Name: Periostin
Protein Function:
Induces cell attachment and spreading and plays a role in cell adhesion. May play a role in extracellular matrix mineralization. Enhances incorporation of BMP1 in the fibronectin matrix of connective tissues, and subsequent proteolytic activation of lysyl oxidase LOX. .
Other Names: Periostin, PN, Osteoblast-specific factor 2, OSF-2, Postn, Osf2
Subcellular Localization: Golgi apparatus. Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix. Colocalizes with BMP1 in the Golgi.
Tissue Specificity: Preferentially expressed in periosteum and periodontal ligament. Also expressed in the developing and adult heart. .
Gene ID: 50706
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of mouse Periostin(24-41aa NSYYDKVLAHSRIRGRDQ), identical to the related rat sequence, and different from the related human sequence by three amino acids.
Calculated MW: 93144
Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Format: Lyophilized
Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
Contents: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN3.
Concentration (mg/ml): Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
Storage: At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time.Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
