Background:
Peroxiredoxin-1 is a protein which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein may play an antioxidant protective role in cells, and may contribute to the antiviral activity of CD8(+) T-cells. This protein may have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
Cellular localization: Cytoplasm
Specificity: Human
Alternative Names:
Hbp23, Heme binding 23kDa protein, Macrophage stress protein 22kDa, MSP23, NKEF A, Prdx1
Immunogen: Recombinant Protein
Isotype: Mouse Monoclonal IgG1
Concentration: 1mg/ml
Recommended dilutions: WB 1:1,000-3,000, IF 1:100-200
Observed band: 21kDa
GeneID: 5052
Swiss-Prot No.: Q06830
