Background:
Phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM) catalyzes the reversiblereaction of 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PGA) to 2-phosphoglycerate(2-PGA) in the glycolytic pathway. The PGAM is a dimeric enzymecontaining, in different tissues, different proportions of aslow-migrating muscle (MM) isozyme, a fast-migrating brain (BB)isozyme, and a hybrid form (MB). PGAM2 encodes muscle-specificPGAM subunit. Mutations in this gene cause muscle phosphoglyceratemutase eficiency, also known as glycogen storage disease X.
Other Names:
Phosphoglycerate mutase 2, BPG-dependent PGAM 2, Muscle-specific phosphoglycerate mutase, Phosphoglycerate mutase isozyme M, PGAM-M, PGAM2, PGAMM
Gene Name: PGAM2
Gene ID: 5224
Primary Accession: P15259
Other Accession: NP_000281.2
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
