Description:
PGLa is an antimicrobial peptide from the magainin family found within the granular gland secretions of the skin of the Xenopus laevis frog. It displays a broad spectrum against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. PGLa peptide also displays antifungal activity against C. albicans. PGLa peptide corresponds to aa39-59 of PYLa/PGLa A precursor after cleavage into PYLa, PGLa and PGLa-H.
