Background:
This gene encodes the adenovirus E1A-associated cellularp300 transcriptional co-activator protein. It functions as histoneacetyltransferase that regulates transcription via chromatinremodeling and is important in the processes of cell proliferationand differentiation. It mediates cAMP-gene regulation by bindingspecifically to phosphorylated CREB protein. This gene has alsobeen identified as a co-activator of HIF1A (hypoxia-induciblefactor 1 alpha), and thus plays a role in the stimulation ofhypoxia-induced genes such as VEGF. Defects in this gene are acause of Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome and may also play a role inepithelial cancer.
Other Names:
Histone acetyltransferase p300, p300 HAT, E1A-associated protein p300, EP300, P300
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 1827-1841 of HUMAN EP300
Gene Name: EP300 {ECO:0000303|PubMed:15706485, ECO:0000312|HGNC:HGNC:3373}
Gene ID: 2033
Primary Accession: Q09472
Other Accession: NP_001420.2
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
