AC-BP3253a
Background:
This gene is highly similar to the v-src gene of Rous sarcoma virus. This proto-oncogene may play a role in the regulation of embryonic development and cell growth. The protein encoded by this gene is a tyrosine-protein kinase whose activity can be inhibited by phosphorylation by c-SRC kinase. Mutations in this gene could be involved in the malignant progression of colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. Transcript Variant: This variant (1) represents the longer transcript. Both isoforms 1 and 2 encode the same protein.
Other Names:
Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src, Proto-oncogene c-Src, pp60c-src, p60-Src, SRC, SRC1
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP3253a was selected from the 213-229region of human Phospho-Src-Y215. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: SRC (HGNC:11283)
Gene ID: 6714
Primary Accession: P12931
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
