Background:
This gene encodes a protein that is involved inglycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchor biosynthesis. TheGPI-anchor is a glycolipid which contains three mannose moleculesin its core backbone. The GPI-anchor is found on many blood cellsand serves to anchor proteins to the cell surface. This protein isinvolved in the transfer of ethanolaminephosphate (EtNP) to thethird mannose in GPI. At least two alternatively splicedtranscripts encoding distinct isoforms have been found for thisgene.
Other Names:
GPI ethanolamine phosphate transferase 3, 2---, Phosphatidylinositol-glycan biosynthesis class O protein, PIG-O, PIGO
Gene Name: PIGO
Gene ID: 84720
Primary Accession: Q8TEQ8
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
