Background:
This gene encodes a protein that is involved inglycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchor biosynthesis. TheGPI-anchor is a glycolipid found on many blood cells and serves toanchor proteins to the cell surface. This protein is an essentialcomponent of the multisubunit enzyme, GPI transamidase. GPItransamidase mediates GPI anchoring in the endoplasmic reticulum,by catalyzing the transfer of fully assembled GPI units toproteins. Several transcript variants encoding different isoformshave been found for this gene.
Other Names:
GPI transamidase component PIG-T, Phosphatidylinositol-glycan biosynthesis class T protein, PIGT
Gene Name: PIGT
Gene ID: 51604
Primary Accession: Q969N2
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
