Alternate Names: Pyruvate kinase isozymes M1/M2; Pyruvate kinase muscle isozyme; Pyruvate kinase 2/3; Cytosolic thyroid hormone-binding protein; CTHBP; THBP1; PKM2; PK2; PK3; PKM

Accession No.: P14618, NP_002645

Description:
PKM2 is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP for generating ATP. There are 4 isoenzymes of pyruvate kinase in mammals: L, R, M1 and M2. L type is the major isozyme in liver, R is found in red cells, M1 is the main form in muscle, heart and brain, and M2 is found in early fetal tissues as well as in most cancer cells.

Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.

MW: 1818.1 g/mol

Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200122 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human PKM2. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.

Composition:
C82H128N24O19S2

Purity:
> 80% by HPLC

Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.

Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
