Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and interaction, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Nervous and Sensory Systems
Alternate Names: PSP, PersephinDescription:
Persephin (PSP) is a neurotrophic factor that promotes survival and growth of dopaminergic and motor neurons, but not peripheral neurons. Human PSP is produced in E. coli as a non-glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two 97 amino acid chains, each with a molecular weight of 10.4 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
The activity is determined by a cell proliferation assay with TT human medullary thyroid cancer cells and is typically 4 - 16 ng/mL. Specific activity: 2.5 x 10e5 units/mg
Accession No.: O60542
MW: 10400 Da
Sequence:
MALSGPCQLW SLTLSVAELG LGYASEEKVI FRYCAGSCPR GARTQHGLAL ARLQGQGRAH GGPCCRPTRY TDVAFLDDRH RWQRLPQLSA AACGCGG
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 20 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.2 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
