Protein Family: Enzymes
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Carbohydrate Metabolism, Cell Communication, Cell Growth and Death, Signal Transduction
Description:
PTEN (Phosphatase and tensin homolog) is a dual-specificity protein phosphatase, dephosphorylating tyrosine-, threonine- and serine-phosphorylated proteins. PTEN has also a lipid phosphatase activity that is critical for its tumor suppression function. PTEN antagonizes the PI3K-AKT/PKB signaling pathway by dephosphorylating phosphoinositides and thereby modulating cell cycle progression and cell survival. Defects in PTEN are the cause of numerous cancers such as in Cowden disease (breast, thyroid and skin cancer predisposition), Lhermitte-Duclos disease, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Alternate Names: Phosphatidylinositol-3, 4, 5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase and dual-specificity protein phosphatase PTEN, Phosphatase and tensin homolog, Mutated in multiple advanced cancers 1, MMAC1, TEP1
Application Notes: E: 1-10000; WB: 1:500-1:2000; IF: 1:200-1:1000; FC: 1:200-1:400
Accession No.: P60484
Antigen: Purified recombinant fragment of PTEN expressed in E. coli.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml IgG in PBS pH7.4, 50% glycerol with 0.03% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C for short term use only. Store at -20°C for storage over 1 month. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
